The World T20 starts tomorrow (or next week if you’re a big boy – oh, missus!)
CricketMax underwent extensive trials on different wickets to try and find the perfect balance between bat and ball.
The tournament starts at 09.30 GMT, with Hong Kong v Zimbabwe in Nagpur and at 14.00 Afghanistan v Scotland, on Wednesday there’s Bangladesh (who must be a bit shagged out after losing the Asia Cup final to India) against my Dutch cousins at Dharamsala and later on Ireland v Oman.
So I was mislead somewhat by the exhortations to watch the womens clash between India and Pakistan. It appears that India are playing for a draw. I may go and watch some paint dry instead.

18-2 from 9 overs. And the no 4 for India is 1 not out from 16 balls.

One hell of a pitch for the India – Pakistan men’s game.
It’s turning sideways and bouncing vertically for Ashwin.

Afternoon Romeo, everyone
just got back

Can you imagine if India mess this up from here…
No pressure lads.

Hi mes.
This is going to be very interesting…

Who needs sideways-turning spinners when you’re Pakistan?

Do you smell the Fear as well?

Nah, Kohli and Dhoni (when he eventually gets in) will see India cruise to victory.

Afternoon all, 81 of 11 required for India, I don’t think they even need Dhoni the way Yuvraj and Kohli are batting

I was just about to ask where you were!

Have been out this afternnon after having endured the East Midlands Derby, the result was bad enough but the actual game was awful.
Now following the cricket and the Ireland/Scotland egg chasing, well done Stuart Hogg!
Then it will be tin hat time in preparation for the mayhem of the Tyne & Wear stramash tomorrow.
India seem to have this in hand, pas de probleme!

Kohli has decided enough is enough and it is time to finish the game

Kohli won’t get out (however many other wickets fall, except 7 foot Irfan-man) and thus Pakistan will lose.

Got a bit mixed up with my teams there, in the euphoria of a nailed-on Indian victory.

Well bowled that man!

We could do with a jinx hat-trick Romeo!

The OOP reports that Kohli’s average when chasing in T20 Internationals is 78! Only going one way this I’m afraid

Hmm, no jinxing Kohli today I think. Too good

Far too good.

Morning everyone
big match this morning, but my eye was drawn to the small affair in Abu Dhabi, just in time to see Tredders get Gale second ball. Tredders gets Leaning as well. Who’d da thunk that a spinner would be useful is those sorts of condition eh? Score 88/4 – doesn’t look too clever, but the ‘Pontefract Ponting’ (tm HPG) is in to save the day.

Useful delivery there, mes.

Of course, Ballance will grind out a century here.

I honour of Will, who’s doing such a good job to bring the Yorkists up to a decent score

SA have started in similarly rapid fashion against our boys, could be a somewhat chastening experience if they bat as they did in the England game
LikeLike
Just found a stream, that is a run out 90/2

de Kock gone, SA now 98/3. Still ABV at the crease so SA must expect at least 200
LikeLike
Still very impressed with Afghanistan, they just don’t seem to get phased.
Need to get rid of a certain person though, or they’ll still be chasing 200+.

Duminy and ABV seem to have settled on steady accumulation, eschewing the drama of really crowd endangering shots. For now that is…

Mind you, SA still on for 200 which is probably a little too rich for the Afghan lads

210 to win, expect Steyn to have a better time with the ball than he did against England

Steyn isn’t playing, they dropped him.

Steyn dropped! Another humiliation

The Afghans found a case of “Febreze”…

Shame about the 2 overs which cost 49 in total, otherwise, a very good bowling effort.
If they get within 50 I’ll be surprised though I’m afraid.

If they get within 50, I’ll be very happy.

Ok, so the big man has gone.
But imagine the scenario, SA score 200+ twice, lose twice, and are – to all intent and purpose – out of the tournament.
SA don’t do pressure either.

Oh, it’d be hilarious, especially after the shellacking they gave England in SA recently.
Can’t see it though with Tahir to bowl 4 overs – but it’d be brilliant, yeah!

Yep, Tahir looks to be the key for SA here. Along with Morris I think those 2 will take SA to victory

Shame – but still, amazing whilst the game was in the balance. Really really enjoyable ‘total’ cricket from the Afghans who leave absolutely nothing behind.

Great effort by Afghanistan who play T20 as it should be, full blooded.
I reckon SA were panicking just a touch there.
Are my eyes playing tricks on me but do the bails light up when the stumps are hit?

Yes, the bails do light up
Well done lad – no shame there.
The drop of ABdV was the difference. He scored 29 off one over afterwards
