World twenty20. Or is that 20twenty? Or twentytwenty? Or 2020? Or CricketMax?

The World T20 starts tomorrow (or next week if you’re a big boy – oh, missus!)

Backyard cricket with four stumps - CricketMax

CricketMax underwent extensive trials on different wickets to try and find the perfect balance between bat and ball.

The tournament starts at 09.30 GMT, with Hong Kong v Zimbabwe in Nagpur and at 14.00 Afghanistan v Scotland, on Wednesday there’s Bangladesh (who must be a bit shagged out after losing the Asia Cup final to India) against my Dutch cousins at Dharamsala  and later on Ireland v Oman.

  1. So I was mislead somewhat by the exhortations to watch the womens clash between India and Pakistan. It appears that India are playing for a draw. I may go and watch some paint dry instead.

  2. Have been out this afternnon after having endured the East Midlands Derby, the result was bad enough but the actual game was awful.

Now following the cricket and the Ireland/Scotland egg chasing, well done Stuart Hogg!

Then it will be tin hat time in preparation for the mayhem of the Tyne & Wear stramash tomorrow.

India seem to have this in hand, pas de probleme!

        1. The OOP reports that Kohli’s average when chasing in T20 Internationals is 78! Only going one way this I’m afraid

  3. Morning everyone

big match this morning, but my eye was drawn to the small affair in Abu Dhabi, just in time to see Tredders get Gale second ball. Tredders gets Leaning as well. Who’d da thunk that a spinner would be useful is those sorts of condition eh? Score 88/4 – doesn’t look too clever, but the ‘Pontefract Ponting’ (tm HPG) is in to save the day.

          1. I honour of Will, who’s doing such a good job to bring the Yorkists up to a decent score

            (Ballance appears to be unjinxable)

    1. Still very impressed with Afghanistan, they just don’t seem to get phased.

Need to get rid of a certain person though, or they’ll still be chasing 200+.

  4. Shame about the 2 overs which cost 49 in total, otherwise, a very good bowling effort.

If they get within 50 I’ll be surprised though I’m afraid.

  5. Ok, so the big man has gone.

But imagine the scenario, SA score 200+ twice, lose twice, and are – to all intent and purpose – out of the tournament.

    SA don’t do pressure either.

    1. Oh, it’d be hilarious, especially after the shellacking they gave England in SA recently.

Can’t see it though with Tahir to bowl 4 overs – but it’d be brilliant, yeah!

  6. Shame – but still, amazing whilst the game was in the balance. Really really enjoyable ‘total’ cricket from the Afghans who leave absolutely nothing behind.

  7. Great effort by Afghanistan who play T20 as it should be, full blooded.

I reckon SA were panicking just a touch there.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me but do the bails light up when the stumps are hit?

    1. Yes, the bails do light up

Well done lad – no shame there.

The drop of ABdV was the difference. He scored 29 off one over afterwards
